I’m interested in time and space and distance and not in making monuments like American land artists that become famous places. The famous place in this particular show is the Pacific Crest Trail itself.”

De installatie van Zeger Reyers in het GEM in Den Haag roept bij mij veel vragen op, associaties met Zen-tuinen en theater van Robert Wilson geven de neiging te denken dat hij niet de natuur in het museum haalt, maar ze in het museum cultiveert. Ook dacht ik aan de amerikaanse dichter Gary Snyder die prachtige natuur-poezie heeft geschreven en zo de natuur in zijn eigen gesloten tuin doet bloeien. Hij heeft juist een nieuwe bundel uit na enige tijd niets van zich te hebben laten horen: “Danger on Peaks”.
