EX-MÊKH@ Platforms Project – Art Athina day 3

13 mei 2014

After a visit to our friend Maria Ikonomopoulou we decided to go and see the show she is a part of. The exhibition is held in a museum-like space which is a part of the Art School of Athens. This school is situated on Pireaus Avenue and it looks like an old part of an industrial zone, but the exhibion space is spatious and looks impressive. The art in this exhibion is mainly Greek, you get the impression that the political situation and feminism are the main themes. It was good to see social involvement of artists where there is a real need for change in the mindset of people.

On our way into the city we had a look at the venue where Art Athina would take place.

Architecture in the industrial zone was rather unusual for us

IMG_3484

And surrealistic at times

IMG_3485

The art school had a familiar atmosphere though

With nice pieces on its walls
